Former Australia captain Aaron Finch said that India batter Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed by two beautiful deliveries in consecutive ODIs in the ongoing three-match series. Aaron Finch suggested that Suryakumar Yadav should be sharper during the first few deliveries while facing left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc.

Suryakumar Yadav, the No. 1 batter in T20Is, struggled to score and cement his place in the 50-over format. The right-handed batter represented India in 22 matches and scored only 433 runs with a dismal average of 25.47. The 32-year-old, on the other hand, scored 1675 runs from 48 T20I matches with a staggering average of 46.52.

Suryakumar Got Two Beauties From Mitchell Starc – Aaron Finch

Speaking to Star Sports after the second ODI in Visakhapatnam, Aaron Finch assessed Suryakumar Yadav’s dismissals in the first two matches and said that Mitchell Starc bowled two beauties to dismiss the Indian batter. Finch believes that Surya needed to pay more attention while feeding Starc in the first few deliveries.

“Suryakumar got two beauties from Mitchell Starc. But he knows where he would have been bowling, he’s got to be sharper than that in the first couple of balls,” said the former Australian ODI captain.

Shubman Gill Played A Couple Of Loose Shots – Aaron Finch

Former Australia captain believes that India opener Shubman Gill will be more disappointed with his dismissal after he was not able to replicate his sensational form in the ongoing ODI series.

“I think Shubman Gill played a couple of loose shots, which would disappoint him especially after being in such good form. He was caught at backward point to not great deliveries. If you get knocked over as an opening batter by a genuine delivery, you can accept that. But when you get out when you are in such good form, you get so disappointed,” he added.

India will take on Australia in the third and final ODI of the three-match series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday, March 22. Both teams will be hoping to seal the series with a victory in the must-win encounter in Chennai.
