Australia led by Pat Cummins will be looking to get their first taste of victory when it comes to the Test series as the side have failed to bag any in the last twenty when it comes to facing India at their home conditions. While defeating India at home is not a small feat, the Australian side looks confident this time around, with the quality of players present in their squad.
The team is likely to face a big challenge throughout the series, with three out of the four venues known to favor the spinners since the first day of the game. To add on, there have been various reports in the media that the Indian side have specifically requested tracks that provide an advantage over Australia, which have a plethora of left-handers on its side.

However, with all-rounder, Cameron Green still not completely fit with his finger injury Australia could try Peter Handscomb to balance the side.

“I think it is a factor over here. With so much traffic from the right-handers bowling, at times there is a bit more out there for the left-handers, The amount of traffic from right-arm quick bowlers, even the offies, is right outside where the left-handers are batting. Traditionally sometimes it can be hard for the lefties. You’ve got to have those options – the sweeps, the reverse sweeps, a really clear method.
“I think that’s part of the challenge of playing away. Home teams want to win at home. In Australia, we’re lucky we’ve got pace and bounce. But home match advantage I don’t think it’s a terrible thing. It’s just another challenge and it makes touring over here even harder when you know that the conditions are custom-made for them.”
It will be interesting to see how things pan out in the coming days and if Australia are truly prepared for the challenge. We could see a one-sided affair if the talks of rank-turners are true but it would be a grave mistake to underestimate any Australian side.
