Indian Cricket Team would be aiming to bounce back strongly after a humiliating defeat in the 2nd ODI. The Men in Blue got a reality check as losing the match by 10 wickets is not acceptable in modern cricket. KL Rahul in the 1st ODI had played a match-winning knock of 75 runs in 91 runs. Rahul showed immense mental application as India was in a precarious position at 83-5.

Suryakumar Yadav’s form is a concern for the Men in Blue. It would be interesting to see whether Ishan Kishan gets a game in the decider on 22nd March (Wednesday) as he is someone who can provide lusty blows in the middle overs phase. India hasn’t lost the ODI series in India since 2019 when the Aussies defeated them by 3-2.

Venkatesh Prasad on Aakash Chopra- KL Rahul Incident

Venkatesh Prasad was having an interaction with CNN News 18 and was asked whether he targeted KL Rahul during BGT 2023.

“I’ve got nothing against anybody but it’s just that whatever I feel I say it. Few people take it; few don’t. It’s up to them. It’s not that I’ve only spoken about KL Rahul,” said Venkatesh Prasad.

“I even expressed my opinion over Sarfaraz Ahmed as well who has been performing brilliantly. I have sure that I didn’t cross the line, as simple as that. Few people have taken it very seriously and few have criticized it,” he added.

Venkatesh Prasad on KL Rahul

Venkatesh Prasad made an interesting statement on KL Rahul & made it clear that there is no rift between him & KL Rahul

“Look I’ve got great respect and regard to KL Rahul. I’ve seen him since his Under-16 days – almost for 15 years. Having followed and worked with him at different stages be it in Karnataka, at NCA or with the Indian team,” said Venkatesh Prasad.

“KL Rahul was given a long rope and that’s fair enough for the kind of potential that he has. But he has not lived up to the talent that he is there. I am sure it will get better in the next few months but having said that, I have not been harsh; I had to say what I felt,” he further added.
