Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina believes that winning the World Test Championship (WTC) final will be a morale booster for the Men in Blue ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023 at home later this year. India will face Australia in the WTC final, which is scheduled to be played at the Oval in London on June 7.
The Men in Blue last won an ICC tournament in the 2013 Champions Trophy. India lost in the finals of the 2014 T20 World Cup and the 2017 Champions Trophy. The team reached the semi-finals of the 2015 ODI World Cup, 2016 T20 World Cup, 2019 ODI World Cup, and 2022 T20 World Cup. The team made a group-stage exit in the 2021 T20 World Cup.

I Am Very Sure That Planning Is Already On – Suresh Raina
In the sidelines of the Legends League Cricket, Suresh Raina said that team India management should plan to rest their best players in the later stages of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to keep them in good shape ahead of the WTC final.
“I am very sure that planning is already on about how can we give rest to these players in between IPL and also ensure that they are in prime condition. If we win the WTC final, it will surely be a morale booster for the 50-over World Cup later in the year,” Raina told IANS in the sidelines of the Legends League Cricket.

Virat Kohli Has Just Scored A Hundred – Suresh Raina
Suresh Raina said that Indian batters performed well in the recently concluded Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT), citing centuries by Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill.
“Look at Virat Kohli; he has just scored a hundred. We were talking about turning tracks, and we saw how well they can play on any track. I would say, Virat, Rohit, and Shubman Gill – he just got one opportunity and he scored a hundred,” Raina concluded.
