Indian Cricket Team won a thriller against Australia in the 1st ODI. The Men in Blue won the match by 5 wickets and continued their dominance over Australia. KL Rahul & Ravindra Jadeja were involved in a match-winning partnership of 108 runs. Ravindra Jadeja scored 45 runs in 69 balls where he struck 5 fours & while bowling took 2 wickets in his 9-over spell where he gave away 46 runs.

KL Rahul silenced all the outside noise by playing a scintillating knock of 75 runs in 91 balls where he struck 7 fours & 1 six. It looks unlikely that Ishan Kishan would feature in the 2nd ODI as the batter couldn’t make an impact in the opening slot as well after a forgettable ODI series against New Zealand where he was slated in the middle order.

Australia would be crestfallen as they had their chances while bowling where they dropped catches & the fielding was a bit scratchy. Steve Smith should have batted a bit more responsibly. The management perhaps needs to make Glenn Maxwell bat at no.5 position where he could dismantle the spinners in the middle overs

It won’t be wrong to say that the Men in Blue got a reality check as once again the batting lineup got exposed. It looks unlikely that India will tinker with their combination as it was a complete performance from the bowling unit. It looked as if the Aussies weren’t ready for the steep challenge where the batting unit apart from Mitchell Marsh looked in a hurry to play shots.

Luckily did well with the ball- Ravindra Jadeja

During the post-match presentation, Ravindra Jadeja was asked about making a comeback to ODI Cricket & about his performance.

“I’m playing ODI after 8 months so was just looking to adjust as soon as possible. Luckily did well with the ball, got two wickets and was looking to build a partnership with the bat.” said Ravindra Jadeja.

“Having played Test cricket, line and length was there but you have to alter you lengths and pace. I was looking to build a partnership today of about 70-80 runs, and that happened.” he added.
