The former spinner Maninder Singh chose Kuldeep Yadav when selecting the one player who will be crucial to India’s success in the series.

A four-match Test series between Australia and Rohit Sharma and company will begin on Thursday, February 9 in Nagpur. The 17-person Indian team selected for the first two Test matches only includes wrist-spinner Kuldeep.

Only a few weeks ago, Vidarbha and Gujarat competed in a Ranji Trophy game at Nagpur’s VCA Stadium. Despite only needing to chase down 72 runs, the visitors lost by 18 runs. An unlikely victory for the hosts has been achieved thanks to Vidarbha’s left-arm orthodox spinner Aditya Sarwate, who shredded Gujarat’s batting order by taking six wickets.

More than a month later, the Border-Gavaskar series will begin at the Nagpur venue, and it goes without saying that the emphasis will be on having a powerful spin attack to take advantage of the likely spin-friendly conditions.

The Indian surfaces favor spinners, and slow bowlers are predicted to have a significant impact on the series’ result. On each team, there are four spinners.

Maninder Singh said that the Indian spin attack appeared more potent “India has an advantage over the other team due to their more diverse spin bowling assault. But rest convinced that over the course of a month, we will see a terrific match between bat and ball.”

Maninder Singh chose Kuldeep Yadav, a chinaman, as the guy who will be crucial to India’s victory in the series. The Australian batsmen have long been worried by the left-arm spinner, who recently seems to have redefined himself, and he might be a trump card for the hosts in the series.

“I think Kuldeep Yadav will play a very crucial role in Team India’s success in this Test series. He’s got the skills to trouble the Australian batting line-up,” Maninder Singh said.

Kuldeep Yadav has taken nine wickets in the two Test games he’s played against Australia. In the hosts’ first innings of the Sydney Test in 2019 and the visitors’ first innings of the series-deciding final Test in Dharamsala in 2017, he amassed stats of 5/99 and four wickets, respectively.
