Will Play As Pure Batter in IND vs AUS ODI Series: Mitchell Marsh

Ahead of the match, Marsh revealed that he will play as a pure batter in the ODIs against India. He said that he might bowl during the later stage of IPL 2023 after his ankle gets fit. Marsh is part of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023.

“I am playing as a pure batter. Probably a couple of weeks away from bowling. Just allowing the ankle to have a full rehabilitation and hope I’ll be back bowling at some stage during the IPL. It’s always a beautiful place to play, hopefully we can all cash in”, Mitchell Marsh said.

Marsh also said that it was beautiful to be back in India and he hopes that it will be a ripping series between India and Australia, who are the top two sides in the ODI rankings.

“Always a pleasure, love coming here, beautiful to be back in India. Back home for me in Perth, it’s been one of the hotter months we’ve had, hopefully I am a little bit acclimatised. It’s certainly feeling very hot out here in the sun. Feeling really good, had a bit of a layoff, was able to get some domestic games back in Perth. Feeling really confident ahead of this. Should be a ripping series – No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the world – so it should be great”, Marsh further said.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Marsh opened the innings for Australia in the 1st ODI with Travis Head. While Head got out cheaply for 5 runs, Marsh went on to smash 81 runs for the team off 65 balls. Later, he was caught by Mohammed Siraj on Ravindra Jadeja’s delivery.
