During the second Test match between India and Australia in Delhi, Virat Kohli’s face lit up with delight when he was apparently offered a plate of chole bhature. While sitting on the team balcony and conversing with coach Rahul Dravid, a person approached Kohli with the food parcel, and he reacted with so much enthusiasm that he clapped his hands in joy, causing Dravid to smile.
Sanjay Manjrekar, the former Indian cricketer, made a light-hearted comment, referring to it as “stress eating.”

In the past, Virat Kohli has expressed his fondness for Chole Bhature, and it is a well-known fact. In an interview, he openly admitted his love for the dish but had to restrict his consumption to maintain his fitness. He also revealed that his favourite variation of the dish is “Ram ke chole bhature” from Delhi.

Virat Kohli’s dismissal during India’s innings was disputed as he was given out LBW on 44, and it was not clear whether the ball had hit the bat or the pad first. Nonetheless, India managed to almost equal Australia’s score, thanks to the valuable contributions of Axar Patel, who scored 74 runs, and Ravichandran Ashwin, who added 37 runs.
The duo put up a partnership of 114 runs, rescuing the hosts from a precarious position. If it weren’t for their outstanding performance, Australia would have been more pleased than they were at the end of the day’s play with 61 runs on the board at the loss of a single wicket.
