Sunil Gavaskar believes Virat Kohli will convert his half-century in the fourth and final Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test into a double century.
On Saturday, March 11, Kohli was unbeaten on 59 as India finished Day 3 at 289/3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The hosts are still behind Australia by 191 runs with seven first-innings wickets in hand as the series enters its final day.

As reported by Sportskeeda, after the game, Sunil Gavaskar predicted that the star batter might turn his fifty into a double hundred. As stated by the Indian cricket legend, India would seize the lead and have a chance to win the game if Kohli scores a double ton.
“The best thing is the way Virat Kohli came and scored a half-century after seeing the pitch’s behavior. I feel this half-century might get converted into a double hundred and if that happens, it means India would have taken a lead from Australia and have a chance to win the match,” said Sunil Gavaskar.

“He has not scored a century in the last few years”: Sunil Gavaskar
Gavaskar claimed that Kohli has been desperate for runs because he has been going through a dry spell and that scoring a 250 would be the best way to make up for it.
“When someone is hungry and has not got much to eat and is getting something to eat, why should he leave it? He has not scored a century in the last few years, so the best way to make up for it is by scoring 250,” said Gavaskar.
Kohli and Shubman Gill (128) put on a 58-run third-wicket stand before the latter was caught in front of the wickets by Nathan Lyon. So far, the former Indian captain and Ravindra Jadeja (16*) have combined 44 runs for the fourth wicket.
