Former India cricketers Venkatesh Prasad and Aakash Chopra clashed bitterly on the microblogging site Twitter about opening batter KL Rahul’s poor record.

Late Tuesday (February 21) night, Prasad liked a tweet that included a video of Aakash Chopra complimenting Suniel Shetty, who happens to be KL Rahul’s father-in-law.

A social media argument between two former Indian cricketers has been sparked by KL Rahul’s slump. On Twitter, Venkatesh Prasad and Aakash Chopra have been exchanging insults while expressing opposing viewpoints on the entire Rahul and his run of poor scores issue.

Prasad withdrew from the discussion after Chopra’s comments gained traction on Twitter and he expressed his intention to stop interacting with him.

Prasad liked a video of Chopra on social media in which he referred to Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty as his “mentor,” “big brother,” and “father-like figure.”

The spectators immediately connected the two pieces of the complex puzzle, understanding why Chopra was defending Rahul despite the opener’s difficulties in the game’s longest format.

Aakash Chopra called Venkatesh Prasad for a one-on-one conversation on his YouTube channel:

Aakash Chopra invited Venkatesh Prasad to a one-on-one conversation on his YouTube channel, which the latter graciously declined, stating that he had stated his point and there was nothing else to say.

The dispute, which began because of Rahul’s appearance, took a completely different turn. In conclusion, team management, including skipper Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid, will make the final choice on Rahul’s future, at least for the time being. Despite his average of 16.5 in the last 12 Test innings, both Rohit and Dravid may be backing Rahul, but selectors have warned that he may be kept out after losing the vice-captaincy.

In terms of Rahul, he has been retained by the selection for the third and fourth Tests against Australia while being removed from the vice-captaincy post due to a streak of poor performances.

India leads the four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-0, but Rahul’s place in the XI is under scrutiny as the opener hasn’t scored more than 30 runs in his last nine innings. The fact that someone like Shubman Gull is waiting in the wings makes his case much weaker.
