Sourav Ganguly, a former captain of India, thinks that while playing at home, his nation is a difficult side to defeat because they are a whole different animal. In a total of five days of cricket, India defeated Australia in both Test matches, and Ganguly wasn’t shocked by the result.
The former captain’s remarks followed India’s 2-0 victory over Australia in the four-match series, with the second Test victory coming by a commanding margin of 10 wickets. The Indian team needs one more victory to guarantee a spot in the World Test Championship’s championship game.

India Is A Different Beast In India: Sourav Ganguly
Sourav Ganguly claimed that India’s outstanding all-around efforts are what lead to their success at home. He continued by saying that India is the best team when the ball starts to spin.
“India is a different beast in India. They are a pretty good team all around but in India they are pretty hard to beat. When it starts turning, they are a better side than anyone,” he said.
Is it possible for India to win by a score of 4-0? Sourav Ganguly concurs. “I think so. I don’t know how Australia can stop it,” on evaluating Australia’s performance, he was realistic.

Sourav Ganguly emphasized that the current Australian squad is different from the previous Australian team while analyzing Australia’s performance. He mentioned some of the legends that the current squad lacks, like Matthew Hayden, Justin Langer, Ricky Ponting, Steve and Mark Waugh, and Adam Gilchrist. While Marnus Labuschagne is a decent player and Steve Smith is a superb player, David Warner is yet to get going, and Ganguly believes that these are difficult circumstances for him.
We Keep Comparing This Team With Australian Teams Of The Past: Sourav Ganguly
The error we make with Australian sides is that we believe they are Steve Waugh’s Australia, but that is not the case, according to Ganguly, who also noted that different players are challenged in various ways depending on the circumstances.
“The problem is, we keep comparing this Australian team from the teams of the past and it’s not the same. You don’t have a Matthew Hayden, Justin Langer, Ricky Ponting, Steve and Mark Waugh, (Adam) Gilchrist, you name them. You don’t have that quality.
“Steve Smith is a great player. (David) Warner hasn’t got going, (Marnus) Labuschagne is a good player but these are tough conditions for him as well.
“The mistake we make with Australian teams is that we think they are Steve Waugh’s Australia but that’s not the case. Different players get tested differently in different conditions,” Sourav Ganguly said.
