Both teams play a five-match ODI series followed by a two-match Test series after the ongoing SL vs AUS T20I series. The ODI series will be a part of the ODI Super League while the Test series will be a part of the ICC WTC 2021-23.

Sri Lanka have been totally outplayed at home by the Aussies. In the first two games, their batters have not been able to score 150 runs as a unit. Their bowlers have done their best to defend the two low totals but they could not do much. However, they have a chance to make a comeback in this last game followed by the ODI and the Test series.
