Australia replied with 321 all-out, earning a good lead of 109 runs. Opener Usman Khawaja slammed a 71-run knock for the team. However, Australia lost a few quick wickets in the middle and was railing at 157-5 at one stage. However, then Cameron Green came up with an astonishing knock of 77 runs to take Australia to a good total.

Sri Lanka totally flopped with their batting in the 2nd innings, getting all-out for just 113 against a lead to 109. Dimuth Karunaratne was the top run-getter for the team. Nathan Lyon and Travis Head crushed Sri Lanka batsmen bagging 4 wickets each. The 5-run target in the final innings was a piece of cake for Australia and they grabbed victory by 10 wickets.
