Sri Lanka hard-hitting batsman Bhanuka Rajapaksa would be available for the third ODI against India in Colombo. Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s availability confirmation comes after he sustained a sprain on his left knee; however, that should not stop him from playing the final ODI. The third game is on the 23rd of July as the hosts look to prevent a whitewash.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa, one of Sri Lanka’s most promising and talnted players in a young line-up, has not been able to register a significant score for them while batting at number three. The left-handed batsman got off to an excellent start in the first ODI before perishing for 24 off 22 deliveries. In the second ODI, he departed for a first-ball duck, becoming one of Yuzvendra Chahal’s three wickets.

Below is the official confirmation about Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s availability:

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka would be keen to turn things around in the third ODI and will want to pick up a consolation win. Their batting line-up has exceeded the expectations, posting 262 and 275 in the first two games. Nevertheless, one of their top-order batsmen must convert their starts to a significant score.

However, it is their bowling and fielding unit that needs to step up the most and deliver for the team. They failed to close out the second ODI even after reducing India to 193-7 at one stage. A win in the final ODI would do their confidence a world of good ahead of the three-match T20I series.
