CPL 2021: Guyana Amazon Warriors vs St Kitts and Nevis Patriots– Prediction, Today’s Winner, Most Runs, Most Wickets. The second semi-final of the CPL 2021 sees Guyana Amazon Warriors take on St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Tuesday at Warner Park Stadium. St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots wouldn’t be too happy with the way they have performed in the second half of the tournament. They were brilliant in the first leg, having won the first matches in a row.
However, Dwayne Bravo and Co. struggled to deliver match-winning performances in the next five games and could only manage to win 1 out of them. Nevertheless, they have managed to reach the playoffs and would be keen to beat Guyana on Tuesday and book a place in the finals.
St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots played their last game against Trinbago Knight Riders. Dwayne Bravo and Co. batted first and posted a below-par 147-run total. Chris Gayle‘s poor run of form continued as he got out after scoring only 5 runs. Joshua Da Silva top-scored with 50 off 45. The likes of J Carter (16 off 16), Sherfane Rutherford (25 off 28), and Fabien All (0 of 2) made not-so-good returns. Dwayne Bravo’s 13-ball 25-run cameo later in the innings, however, helped the team get to a reasonable total in the end.
The bowlers bowled well in the first 10 overs, giving away only 55 runs. However, Pollard’s 22-ball 51 took the game away from St. Kitts, and the latter, as a result, lost the game by 4 wickets. Fawad Ahmed was brilliant with the ball, picking 2 for 16, while Naseem Shah gave away 18 runs in his 3 overs and took the big wicket of Lendl Simmons.
Guyana Amazon Warriors, on the other hand, are in terrific form, of late. They are coming into the contest on the back of three consecutive wins. Different players have stepped up in different games and helped the team win matches. Romario Shepherd emerged as the star performer for them with both bat and ball in the last game against Jamaica Tallawahs.
Shepherd scored 72 runs off just 31 balls, including 7 fours and 6 sixes. His knock helped the team post 142 runs on the board. He was equally effective with the ball as he picked three crucial wickets of Imad Wasim, Andre Russell, and Rovman Powell to break the back of Jamaica. Odean Smith also picked three wickets, while Imran Tahir made two scalps. Thanks to the brilliant bowling effort, Jamaica were bowled out for 128 runs in the second innings.
