The 2021 edition of the Caribbean Premier League, CPL 2021, is scheduled to be held from 26th August to 19th September 2021. All the matches will be played at Warner Park in St. Kitts and Nevis. As many as six teams will participate in the tournament namely, Trinbago Knight Riders (defending champions), St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Barbados Tridents, Jamaica Tallawahs, St Lucia Zouks, and Guyana Amazon Warriors.

The first match of the Caribbean Premier League 2021 sees Trinbago Knight Riders take on Guyana Amazon Warriors at Warner Park on Thursday. Trinbago Knight Riders are the defending champions and are the most successful franchise in the tournament. They didn’t lose a single game and remained unbeaten throughout the season last year. The Knight Riders won the title last year after beating St. Lucia Kings in the final. The Kieron Pollard and Co. would be keen to claim their second consecutive title ahead of a new season.

Guyana Amazon Warriors, on the other hand, finished second on the points table in the last edition. They are the most consistent teams in the history of the tournament. They have finished as the runners-up on five different occasions but are yet to win a title in the league. They lost to St. Lucia Kings in the second semi-final last year. The Warriors would be aiming for nothing less than a title this time.
