The third match of the CPL 2021 sees Jamaica Tallawahs take on Saint Lucia Kings on 27th August at the Warner Park, St. Kitts. Both teams reached the semis last year. Jamaica Tallawahs won three games out of 10 but still managed to reach the top-four.
They, however, lost to Trinbago Knight Riders in the first of the two semi-finals. On the other hand, Saint Lucia Kings won 6 games out of 10 and also managed to reach the finals. Trinbago Knight Riders beat them in the summit clash by 8 wickets.
Jamaica Tallawahs boasts of pretty good strikers at their disposal. The number one T20 cricketer across the globe, Andre Russell will, once again, be the biggest bet for them. He will be joined by Carlos Brathwaite and Rovman Powell, both of whom are in pretty good form.
The trio is expected to score the majority of runs for the team. Qais Ahmed and Chris Green have been roped in to replace Sandeep Lamicchane and Mujeeb ur Rahman. Fidel Edwards will be in charge of the pace bowling department.
Saint Lucia Kings, on the other hand, have also made quite a few changes. Faf du Plessis has taken over the captaincy with Darren Sammy stepping down from the role. The latter failed to contribute much with bat or ball. Faf du Plessis will be making his comeback in the franchise tournament after missing out in The Hundred 2021 due to a concussion he sustained two months ago.
The batting department further consists of the likes of Tim David Andre Fletcher, Roston Chase, Rakheem Cornwall, Samit Patel, and Keemo Paul. The bowling lineup consists of Obed McCoy, Alzarri Joseph, Usman Qadir, Wahab Riaz, and perhaps, Kesrick Williams.
