CPL 2021: JT vs GUY- Prediction, Match 29. The 29^th match of the CPL 2021 sees Jamaica Tallwahs take on Guyana Amazon Warriors at Warner Park on Monday. Both sides squared up against each other in their last game. Guyana Amazon Warriors beat Jamaica Tallawahs by 46 runs to strengthen their position on the points table.

With that win, they have moved to third position with 5 wins in 9 matches. Having said that, they haven’t yet sealed their birth for the playoffs yet. There is still a chance that they might lose out on a playoff berth. Guyana Amazon Warriors, thus, would be keen to win their last league stage game as well.

Jamaica Tallawahs, on the other hand, would be disappointed to lose the last game against Guyana. With that defeat, they have made things difficult for them as far as playoff spot is concerned. Guyana Amazon Warriors have a must-win game on Monday against Guyana. Another loss in their final league stage game would end their hopes of making it into the playoffs.

Guyana Amazon Warriors didn’t make a great start to their innings after winning the toss and opting to bat first. Brandon King (12 off 8) and Chandrapaul Hemraj (16 off 13) both went back to the pavilion inside the first four overs. Shimron Hetmyer looked good for his 18-ball 23 but unfortunately got run out. Shoaib Malik (23 off 29), once again, failed to make any substantial contribution with the bat. However, the arrival of Nicholas Pooran turned things for them.

The skipper played an outstanding knock when it mattered the most. He brought his maiden half-century and went on to score 75 runs off 39 balls, a knock which was laced with 4 fours and as many as 7 sixes. His knock propelled the total to 169 in 20 overs.

For Jamaica, none of the batsmen stood up for the side and anchored the chase. Players were guilty of throwing away starts, thanks to some outstanding bowling effort from Guyana Amazon Warriors. Kennar Lewis, who struck a half-century in the previous match, made a good-looking 16 off 8 balls, before getting out in the third over.

Kirk McKenzie (28 off 26), Rovman Powell (10 off 14) and Haider Ali (16 off 18) failed to play a big knock despite getting decent starts. The big fish, Andre Russell (0 off 5) couldn’t deliver in the important game either. Odean Smith starred for Guyana in the bowling department, picking three wickets, including the important wicket of Andre Russell.

Besides, Gudakesh Motie, too, continued to impress with his accurate line and lengths. He finished with figures of 3 for 25 in 4 overs.
