The major mover on the most recent MRF Tyres ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings is Australian Ashleigh Gardner.

Following the first six games of the Commonwealth Games, the rankings were revised, and Australia’s all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner benefited the most from her influence on the premier event in Birmingham.

Her season got off to a wonderful start with the all-game-winning rounder’s performance against India, when she batted an unbeaten 52* from only 35 balls to lead Australia to victory after four clean overs went for just 23 runs.

But against Barbados, Gardner would fare even better, turning up remarkable figures of 2/6 from four overs and contributing to a decisive victory.

Ashleigh Gardner’s Big Strides

In the all-rounder rankings, the 25-year-old has moved up four spots to No. 3, five spots to No. 11 in the batting rankings, and 19 spots to No. 26 in the bowling rankings as a result of his achievements.

The top two positions in the batting rankings are still held by Australia’s Meg Lanning and Beth Mooney, while Smriti Mandhana of India has replaced New Zealander Sophie Devine to complete the top three.

Suzie Bates of New Zealand made the largest jump within the top 10, moving up to the sixth place and passing Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu and Australia starter Alyssa Healy.

No Newcomers In Top 10 In All-rounder Rankings

The top three in the bowling rankings stay the same, with Katherine Brunt, Sarah Glenn, and England spinner Sophie Ecclestone, in that order.

Veteran Australian Jess Jonassen moves up to the fourth place, passing South African pacer Shabnim Ismail, while West Indian sensation Hayley Matthews is the only newcomer to the top 10, taking Ayabonga Khaka’s place.

The top two all-rounders are still Devine and Natalie Sciver, with Ashleigh Gardner rounding out the top three.

No newcomers have entered the top 10, but Tahlia McGrath of Australia has made a stunning 47-spot jump to position 26 in the lower rankings.
