Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have also held onto their fifth and seventh position respectively in ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings among batsmen. Rohit Sharma had a hamstring injury due to which he missed the South Africa series, but his excellent performances in 2021 keep him afloat in the top five.

Virat Kohli’s struggles against the ball outside the off-stump continue, but he is still dishing out performances enough to not let him drop from his position in the ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings.

Marnus Labuschagne is on top of the tree with 915 rating points after having a sensational Ashes series so far.

England skipper Joe Root has also had a decent Ashes with the bat so far with three half centuries and he maintains his second spot with 900 rating points. Steve Smith has lost his third place to Kane Williamson after some poor performances in the ongoing Ashes.

Ravichandran Ashwin is the only Indian bowler in the top 10 with 883 rating points. Newly appointed Australian skipper Pat Cummins is still at the top spot and Pakistan sensation Shaheen Afridi is in third place ahead of Tim Southee and James Anderson.

Only the fourth indigenous cricketer from Australia, Scott Boland had a debut to remember as he recorded stunning figures of 6/7 in the second innings and that has broken him into 74th rank in the ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings among bowlers.

In the all-rounders’ list Jason Holder leads the pack with Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in second and third place respectively.
