The BAN vs IRE third ODI will be played in Sylhet on March 23, Thursday. The second ODI ended in no result with rain playing spoilsport in the second innings, Bangladesh posted 349/6 after which rain prevented Ireland from coming out with a reply. They still have a chance to level the series by winning the final ODI.
Tamim Iqbal will lead Bangladesh while Andrew Balbirnie will lead Ireland. The Irish are now out of the race for direct qualification for the World Cup and will need to play the qualifiers. The Tigers, on the other hand, have secured qualification for the global event. Meanwhile, Mushfique Rahim scored the quickest century for Bangladesh in ODIs off just 60 balls. The side has dominated over their opponents in the first two games.

Bangladesh had a dominating performance over the Irish side in the first ODI. They scored a mammoth 338/8 in the first ODI and bowled out the opponents for just 155. Shakib Al Hasan achieved a major feat as he scored 93 off 89 balls and bagged a wicket. He is now only the third international cricket ever to have the double of 7000 ODI runs and 300 ODI wickets. He is only the third cricketer ever after Sanath Jayasuriya and Shahid Afridi to join this feat. He got to this feat in the first ODI.
In Bangladesh, Ireland will participate in three one-day internationals (ODIs), three Twenty20 internationals (T20Is), and one test match. The three BAN vs IRE ODIs are set to be played on March 18, 20, and 23 in Sylhet. The T20Is are scheduled to take place on March 26, 28, and 30 in Chattogram. The one-off Test will be played in Dhaka from April 4-8. The Tigers are fresh off their T20I series win against England and had their grip firmly over the Irish in the first ODI.

The Irish team are on the road at the moment starting with this ODI series which will culminate with a one-off Test match against England at Lord’s from June 1-4. Ireland will need to play the World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe between 18 June to 9 July. Ireland are placed 11th in the ICC ODI Super League points table at the moment.
