West Indies take on India in the fifth and final T20I in Florida on Sunday, August 7. They are trailing the series 3-1 heading into the final game and will look to finish the series on a high. Both teams have been playing come continuous cricket but there is a marked difference in their approach to the games. West Indies lost the fourth game by 59 runs and lost another T20I series against India in the process.
Meanwhile, after an initial delay, the players from both teams were issued their visas to the US after an intervention from the Guyanese President.
“The visas of both teams have been finally arranged after the intervention of the Guyanese President. It was a timely and influential diplomatic effort by His Excellency,” said Ricky Skerritt, the President of Cricket West Indies (CWI), thanking the head of the Guyana government. The teams reached Miami for the two-weekend games on Thursday, August 4.
India will have Rohit Sharma available for the final two games after he was retired hurt in the third T20I. He played the fourth T20I and will also play the fifth. It will be interesting to see if Rohit opens with Suryakumar Yadav or Rishabh Pant. Another interesting move will be to see if India retains Shreyas Iyer in the XI or gives Sanju Samson a chance. West Indies, from their perspective, can look to do a couple of experiments, especially in their batting department.
