The first PAK vs AFG T20I will be played on March 24 in Sharjah starting from 9.30 pm IST which is 8 pm local time. All three matches will be played in Sharjah with the second T20I on March 26 (Sunday) and the third T20I on March 27 (Monday).
Afghanistan will be led by Rashid Khan while Shadab Khan will lead Pakistan. Both Rashid and Shadab recently played against each other in the IPL. Rashid’s franchise, the Lahore Qalandars won back-to-back PSL titles by beating Multan Sultans by 1 run in a close finish. Both these teams played in the PSL 2021 final as well.

Afghanistan have named a 17-member side with Rashid Khan leading the team. Mohammad Nabi has been recalled into the side for the three-match T20I series. A few of these players will head straight to India after the end of the third T20I for IPL 2023.
Regular players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf are rested for the series. Their absence allows the others to make a mark in the series. Azam Khan, Ishanullah, and Zaman Khan are the players to watch out for. PCB have named a 15-member side for the three-match series with Shadab Khan nominated as captain.

The Afghan side played their previous T20I series against the UAE. They won the series 2-1 winning the first and the third T20I. UAE managed to win the second T20I by nine wickets. The side are placed tenth in the ICC T20I rankings.
Pakistan were the finalist in the previous T20 World Cup losing out to England. Ahead of the T20 World Cup, they hosted England for a seven-match T20I series which turned out to be a historic one with the visitors winning the series 4-3. Pakistan are currently ranked third in the ICC T20I rankings.
