3 Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Players That Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Can Target In IPL 2023

Kolkata Knight Riders beat Chennai Super Kings in the only game they played in IPL 2022. However, by the end of the season, both teams found themselves in the bottom half of the points table. KKR and CSK finished seventh and ninth respectively with Mumbai Indians finishing last.

Ahead of the next season, both teams will need to rebuild their team. KKR made 21 changes throughout the season and did not find a proper playing combination across the 14 games, CSK, on the other hand, lacked the matchwinning ability in the games that they lost.

IPL 2023 will be played in April-May next year. It might very well happen that the management from both teams might target players from each other as they look to rebuild a new nucleus. Devon Conway

Conway played the final leg of IPL 2023. He was not picked in the first half of the season. In between, he missed matches due to his wedding as well. With KKR requiring an attacking batsman up at the top, Conway might well be in their sight. He was a revelation in the few matches that he played for CSK where he formed a good opening combination with Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Robin Uthappa

Robin Uthappa was released by KKR ahead of IPL 2020. CSK then picked him up where he flourished. The mini-action allows KKR to buy him back. He can bat anywhere in the top four and is a sage keeper behind the stumps. Uthappa has kept wickets for KKR previously as well. The management will hope that he gets his form back for KKR if they manage to buy him.

Maheesh Theekshana

The Sri Lanka spinner can be a good option for KKR to aim for from CSK. Since the side does not have any good Indian spinner apart from Ravindra Jadeja, Theekshana fits the bill perfectly. He can be a good option to have alongside Sunil Narine.
