Dhawan is among the most consistent Indian batters in the IPL. He has scored over 5000 runs and during his stay with Delhi Capitals, he scored over 1200 runs for the side in three seasons. An experienced batsman like Dhawan will be a huge boost for a side like CSK which is going through a transitional phase.

Kagiso Rabada

PBKS had previously released reputed players quickly after roping them in. Rabada ended with 23 wickets in IPL 2022, the third-highest in the season. However, it might well be possible that Punjab releases him after one year. In such a scenario, CSK had the chance to snap him up assuming that they would like to get him for not such a big price.

Liam Livingstone

Livingstone might be another payer Chennai might target if Punjab releases him. In his first full season in the IPL, he scored 437 runs and hit as many as 34 sixes.
