MS Dhoni was a legend of the game in white-ball cricket, but he did have a good career in the longer format as well and is regarded to be India’s best wicket-keeper batsman in Tests of all time. Dhoni is the second most successful test captain for the nation among all other captains.

Dhoni as a leader and a batsman in tests had to go through a tough phase in overseas conditions as he wasn’t the most technically gifted player. He was dismissed on 8 occasions in 96 innings for a duck in Tests while captaining which is the second most number for an Indian captain in the longer format. He had an average of 38 in tests which is pretty good for a number seven wicket-keeper batsman.
