Indian current skipper Rohit Sharma opined that since India plays so little cricket with Pakistan, he doesn’t exactly have a reference point about the mindset of the opponents led by Babar Azam. India and Pakistan have not played the Test series for more than 14 years. As far as bilateral series in ODIs and T20Is are concerned, it has been over eight years since the two Asian giants play against each other.

India-Pakistan only faces each other during ICC events like ODI, T20I World Cups, Champions Trophy, and Asia Cup. The political tension between the two neighboring countries escalated after the terror attack in Mumbai’s Taj Hotel in 2008. So, the Indian team met Pakistan after five years in a T20I match at the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. They lost that match and with it lost to Pakistan for the first time in a WC game.
