The ICC T20I Players Rankings update on Thursday, November 17, 2022, saw a huge movement in both batting and bowling rankings with Alex Hales of England and Arshdeep Singh of India being the main benefactors in the aftermath of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

The T20 World Cup came to a thrilling climax in Australia earlier this week when England defeated Pakistan in the final in front of more than 80,000 fans in Melbourne. Alex Hales was a major reason for England’s T20 World Cup title win, which made them only the second team after West Indies to become two-time 20-over champions.

Hales stunned the Australian crowds by making a total of 212 runs at a strike rate greater than 147, with his unbeaten 86 against India in a one-sided semi-final win being the clear standout. He made the most of his opportunities after spending three years out of the team.

The right-hander improved his ranking by almost 100 spots overall to move within striking distance of the top 10 at 12th on the latest list of rankings for T20I batters.

Player of the Tournament Sam Curran jumped 11 spots on the T20I list for bowlers thanks to his 13 wickets including the best of 5/10. Pakistan quick Shaheen Afridi also moved up 29 spots from 39th to 18th, while teenage teammate Naseem Shah rose 70 places to 30th overall.
