Asia Cup 2018: We Have The Potential And Players To Beat Any Side, Angelo Mathews
Sri Lanka cricketer Angelo Mathews thinks that they have the potential and the players to beat any side ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup 2018 scheduled from September 15, 2018.
However, Sri Lanka team is having doubts on the fitness of some batsman.
Dinesh Chandimal and off-spinner Akila Dananjaya are not yet confirmed for the side. Angelo Mathews will get to know whether they will be able to play or not.
Moreover, Angelo Mathews said that Akila would not be able to play for the first two matches. Dinesh Chandimal is also working with the physios and doctors to get a final confirmation. The team management will decide his availability to play in the next few days.
“Akila is not certain for the first two matches, and Chandi is working with the physios and doctors. However, the final confirmation of his availability will be known today or tomorrow,” Angelo Mathews said.
Angelo Mathews is confident enough that his team has the skill to win against any side. He also said that they had not won a series for a long time. Angelo He also added that they had gained confidence after they completed the South African series.

“There’s no guarantee that we can win the Asia Cup but if we play to our potential we have the skills and the players to win against any side provided we do well in all three departments,” Angelo Mathews added.
Asia Cup 2018 will start on September 15, 2018, and the final will be on September 28 at the Dubai.
