The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made changes to Team India’s men’s and women’s squads for the Asian Games 2023 as Shivam Mavi and Anjali Sarvani have been ruled out of the competition due to their respective injuries.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to send its men’s and women’s teams for the upcoming Asian Games. The Asian Games 2023 will take place in China from September 23 to October 8.

The men’s cricket competition will be played from September 28 to October 8 and the women’s cricket matches will take place from September 19 to 28. The games are set to be played in the T20 format at the Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Field.

The men’s team will be coached by NCA head VVS Laxman and Hrishikesh Kanitkar will travel as the head coach of the women’s team. Ruturaj Gaikwad has been named as the captain of the men’s team while regular Harmanpreet Kaur has been named as captain of the women’s team.

Meanwhile, star pacer Shivam Mavi has been ruled out of the competition due to a back injury and Akash Deep has been named as his replacement in the men’s squad.

On the women’s side of things, Pooja Vastrakar, who was earlier a part of the standbys, has been drafted into the main squad as a replacement for Anjali Sarvani, who has suffered a knee injury and will miss the entire tournament.
