Steve Smith and Babar Azam will play against each other when Pakistan will travel down under for a Test series later this year. Both are modern giants of the game of cricket and will come up against each other in the next few months. The two teams play a three-match Test series between December 14-January 3.
The matches will be played in Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney and the build-up has already started. Pakistan last visited the Aussie shores in 2019 where they lost a Test series 2-0.
Australia then played Pakistan in 2022 and won a Test series 1-0 under the leadership of Pat Cummins. The ODI series then ended 2-2.
Cricket Australia released a video on their Twitter handle with Smith talking about Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi. The two teams have played some close matches in recent times. Australia defeated Pakistan in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2021.

“Babar Azam is a wonderful player. The last few years he’s got better and better. He’s someone we have to look out for. He’s dangerous, he makes big scores and he usually does it at a pretty good pace as well,” Smith said.
Steve Smith also spoke about Shaheen Afridi and his ability to swing the new ball prodigiously. Smith acknowledged Shaheen’s ability to swing the ball back into the right-handers as a significant weapon in his arsenal.
