Australia and South Africa go head to head in the second Test in Melbourne starting on December 26. It is known as the Boxing-Day Test match. Australia won the first Test by six wickets and is leading the series 1-0. South Africa needs to win the next Test to keep the series alive.

A total of 34 wickets fell in just two days of the first Test at the Gabba. The way the Test match panned out brought a lot of attention to how the wicket was prepared. The MCG pitch curator is now under pressure to prepare a sporting wicket.

South Africa would desperately need to win this series and stay in contention for the WTC finals ahead of Sri Lanka and India. The Proteas have not lost a test series against Australia since 2008 as the Proteas bowlers would look to exploit the pacy and bouncy conditions provided by Australian pitches.

Both teams have top-class pace bowlers who can wreak havoc in the opposition camp. The first Test was all about the bowlers from both sides stamping their authority on the Test match. Kagiso Rabada picked 8 wickets in the Test match while Pat Cummins seven. Mitchell Starc picked five wickets.
