Australia take on West Indies in the second and final T20I of the two-match series. The hosts won the first game by three wickets in what was a close game. West Indie will need to win the game to draw the series. The Aussies, on the other hand, will look for a clean sweep. The series is important for both teams ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia.
Australian skipper Aaron Finch scored 88 off 53 deliveries batting at number four to win the game for his side. He added a 69-run stand with Matthew Wade (39 off 29) to win the game for his side.
Chasing a modest total of 148, the Aussies were 58/5 in just 8 overs. Earlier in the game, West Indies scored 146/9 batting first with Kyle Mayers top-scoring 39. Odean Smith scored 27 off 17 and was the second-highest run-scorer for the Windies.
“I wanted to target the short boundary but got out, nice to get a couple though. I did not like the first one hitting on the head [on his first ball he faced from Joseph]. Really liked batting in the middle order, something different. We probably would swap it around in the next game [on the opening combination]. We gonna keep tinkering with things, so that we got all bases covered going into the World Cup” said Finch on the batting order for the side.
