The BAN v IRE first T20I will be played in Chattogram on March 27. Bangladesh and Ireland go head to head in a three-match T20I series after the hosts won the ODI series 2-0. The match starts from 1.30 pm IST which is 2 pm local time. Bangladesh are ranked ninth in the ICC T20I rankings while Ireland are placed 12th.
Bangladesh won the first ODI by 183 runs. Rain washed out the second T20I and the hosts won the third ODI by 10 wickets. Shakib Al Hasan will lead the Tigers in the T20I series while senior batter Paul Stirling will lead Ireland in the T20I series with Andrew Balbirnie rested.

This ODI series was not a part of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup Super League but was quite significant for the Irish team. Currently, Ireland is placed 11th on the table with 68 points from 21 matches whereas Bangladesh is already qualified. Ireland are out of the reckoning for direct qualification and will now have to play the qualifiers.
In Bangladesh, Ireland will participate in three one-day internationals (ODIs), three Twenty20 internationals (T20Is), and one test match. The Tigers are fresh off their T20I series win against England and had their grip firmly over the Irish in the first ODI.

The Irish team are on the road at the moment starting with this ODI series which will culminate with a one-off Test match against England at Lord’s from June 1-4. In case they fail to qualify directly for the World Cup, Ireland will need to play the qualifiers in Zimbabwe between 18 June to 9 July.
The three ODIs were played on March 18, 20, and 23 in Sylhet, The T20Is are scheduled to take place on March 26, 28, and 30 in Chattogram. The one-off Test will be played in Dhaka from April 4-8.
