The BAN vs IRE third and final ODI will be played in Sylhet on March 23. The second ODI ended in on-result due to rain. This was after Bangladesh posted 349/6 batting first but rain prevented any further play. The hosts won the first ODI by 183 runs. Tamim Iqbal will lead Bangladesh while Andrew Balbirnie will lead the Irish side.

Mushfiqur Rahim scored the fastest century in ODIs for Bangladesh in just 60 balls. A cumulative batting effort took them to that score only for the second innings to be washed out.

Bangladesh have qualified for the ICC World Cup to be played in India. Ireland, on the other hand, will need to play for the qualifiers for the 13-team tournament. The Tigers would ideally want to replicate their performance in the final ODI and complete a series. For Ireland, there is an opportunity to draw the series and end it on a high ahead of the T20Is.
In Bangladesh, Ireland will participate in three one-day internationals (ODIs), three Twenty20 internationals (T20Is), and one test match. The Tigers are fresh off their T20I series win against England and had their grip firmly over the Irish in the first ODI.

The Irish team are on the road at the moment starting with this ODI series which will culminate with a one-off Test match against England at Lord’s from June 1-4. In case they fail to qualify directly for the World Cup, Ireland will need to play the qualifiers in Zimbabwe between 18 June to 9 July. Bangladesh have already qualified for the ODI World Cup later this year in India.
The three ODIs are set to be played on March 18, 20, and 23 in Sylhet, The T20Is are scheduled to take place on March 26, 28, and 30 in Chattogram. The one-off Test will be played in Dhaka from April 4-8.
