The action shifts to Chattogram for the BAN vs IRE T20I series. The first T20I will be played on March 27 starting from 1.30 pm IST which is 2 pm local time. All three matches will be played at this venue.
Paul Stirling will lead Ireland as Andrew Balbirnie has been rested. Shakib Al Hasan will lead Bangladesh as Tamim Iqbal is not a part of the T20I scheme of things for the Tigers. The hosts won the ODI series 2-0 heading into the T20Is. They won the first ODI by 183 runs and the third by 10 wickets. The Tigers are ranked ninth in the ICC T20I rankings while Ireland are 12th.

The three ODIs were played on March 18, 20, and 23 in Sylhet, The T20Is are scheduled to take place on March 26, 28, and 30 in Chattogram. The one-off BAN vs IRE Test will be played in Dhaka from April 4-8. Ireland has just one T20I against Bangladesh in five games. They will be targeted with spin in the three-match series and it will be interesting to see their response.
Bangladesh recently won a T20I series against England 3-0 earlier this year in March. The England batters were tested by spin and Bangladesh are planning to do the same to the Irish batters. Both teams have played 12 ODIs so far with the Tigers winning 8 games while Ireland just three. Both teams have played five T20Is till date with the hosts winning three and the visitors just one game.

Several players from Bangladesh and Josh Little from Ireland will depart for India after the end of the T20I series for IPL 2023. Shakib along with Litto das will represent KRR while Mustafizur Rahman will play for the Delhi Capitals. Josh Little was picked up by Gujarat Titans at the auction.
