BCB Set To Seek Clarification From Russell Domingo On His Recent Remarks

After Russell Domingo alleged that the Bangladesh Cricket Board makes too much noise, the board is prepared to ask him for clarification. In an apparent jab at the board, Domingo claimed that excessive outside noise prevents his players from maturing and insisted that players be yelled at in the locker rooms.

After a protracted dry spell in which they won just two of the thirteen games they played after the ICC T20 World Cup, with one game being washed away, the BCB recently decided to remove Domingo from the T20 setup and hand over responsibility to the newly appointed T20 technical director Sridharan Sriram until the next World Cup.

“Who does this (screaming at the players) and why doesn’t he come up with names? How is it possible to scream at a player? He said cricket director and it could be me because he did not mention team director (Khaled Mahmud) and I feel he wanted to say team director,” BCB cricket operation chairman Jalal Yunus said as per Cricbuzz.

“Whatever he said he shouldn’t have said because no one is authorized to talk to the team management. Can the players say which board officials scolded them because there is no possibility so who he meant I’m not clear. 

“He is still our contracted coach and that is the reason he cannot talk like that against the board or any officials. We will discuss among ourselves because we have seen it today and after discussing with our president and others we will take a decision but we will definitely look into it“, he added.

Bangladesh lost a series against Zimbabwe recently.
