BCCI Announces India 'A' Squad & Schedule For South Africa Tour

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India ‘A’ squad and schedule for the upcoming South Africa tour.

India ‘A’ are set to tour South Africa for the three four-day matches and the series is scheduled to begin on 23 November 2021 in Bloemfontein.

The India ‘A’ squad picked by the all-India Senior Selection Committee has some big Indian Premier League (IPL) players and some exceptionally talented young cricketers.

The Delhi Capitals (DC) opening batsman Prithvi Shaw, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) opener Devdutt Padikkal, Mumbai Indians (MI) spinner Rahul Chahar who was also part of India’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 team, emerging Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacer Umran Malik, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer Navdeep Saini are some notable names that have made it to the squad.

The India ‘A’ team in the tour will be led by 31-year-old Priyank Panchal and Upendra Yadav will be taking over the wicketkeeping responsibilities for the team.

Tuesday-Friday, 23rd-26th Nov 2021, 1st Four-day Match in Bloemfontein

Monday-Thursday, 29th November- 2nd December 2021, 2nd Four-day Match, in Bloemfontein

Monday-Thursday, 6th-9th December 2021, 3rd Four-day Match in Bloemfontein

Meanwhile, from December 17 main Test games will begin and India will play 3 Tests, 3 One Day Internationals and 4 T20 Internationals against South Africa in this tour.
