BCCI Contracts List: Massive Pay Hike For Hardik Pandya And Suryakumar Yadav, Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma’s Future In Doubt- Reports. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will convene an Apex Council meeting on Wednesday, December 21. Central contracts, the appointment of a new selection committee, and split captaincy will be discussed in the meeting.
The BCCI annual player contracts for 2022-23 are about to be revealed, and Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav are likely to be promoted. Following Team India’s semi-final loss at the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, there have been demands for a split captaincy, and Hardik has emerged as the frontrunner for the T20 captaincy.

Hardik Pandya Likely To Lead T20I Team
The BCCI is ready to appoint a new captain for T20s, and Hardik Pandya will lead in the shortest format. They did not want a split captaincy, so Virat Kohli was removed as ODI and Test captain. However, Rohit Sharma is getting older and has been constantly battling with injuries. The 35-year-old will remain as ODI captain until the 2023 World Cup.
The 29-year-old is currently in the Grade C bracket and is likely to earn a double promotion. A split coaching decision is also likely to be made at the meeting, which implies that a new coach would be appointed for T20Is, leaving Rahul Dravid to only Test and ODI coaching.
Central Contracts
Axar Patel, who has consistently played all three formats for India, has a good chance of breaking into the Grade A category. Shubman Gill has been very impressive in recent Test and ODI matches and is likely to get promoted. Shardul Thakur was not part of the Test and T20I set-up and would most likely be demoted to the Grade C category. Kuldeep Yadav may be given a central contract in the Grade C category. Wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan appears to be the frontrunner to break into Grade C.
Shikhar Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Washington Sundar, Deepak Chahar, and Yuzvendra Chahal are expected to be named to India’s limited-overs squad. Dhawan led the ODI team on several occasions in the absence of the regulars, and Bhuvi mostly played in T20Is.
Ishant Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Mayank Agarwal, Hanuma Vihari, and Wriddhiman Saha are all but certain to lose their central contract with India. While Ishant, Rahane, and Saha are well and truly out of the Test set-up, the road back is an extremely tough and competitive one for both Agarwal and Vihari.
