The revised Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) office members, including president Roger Binny, reportedly urge Indian players to compete in the Ranji Trophy and other domestic competitions while not representing the nation.

Several fringe talents, including Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson, and Yuzvendra Chahal, are now playing for their respective states after a long absence.

The high rotation that resulted from the workload management era has somewhat diluted domestic cricket. The rest of the Indian team members, with the exception of all-format players, have been urged to participate in the domestic season rather than hold off till the upcoming international assignment.

A BCCI official told InsideSport: “It had to happen. They need match practice to stay in shape. With so many injuries recently, we must have players ready for all formats. As President mentioned, all Indian players barring all-format guys should play in domestic.”

BCCI Issues Guideline To Players To Participate In The Ranji Trophy:

The addition of well-known Indian players raises the bar for domestic cricket. The Ranji Trophy’s opening stages currently feature a large number of contracted players. Players hoping to make the Indian Test squad may find that the upcoming season is vital.

Ishan Kishan was among the top performers in the opening match of the competition, but Suryakumar is playing against Hyderabad in Mumbai’s second game after sitting out the team’s commanding nine-wicket victory over Andhra in the competition’s first game.

“I feel I’m close. I have played this format. I have an idea of red-ball cricket because we all start with red-ball cricket. Yes, conditions are challenging but if you can apply your mind and alter your game, you can succeed, “Suryakumar recently told the Indian Express.

Team India is attempting to reach the World Test Championship (WTC) final for the second time in a row. A strong domestic framework is essential if the team is to maintain its dominance in red-ball cricket.
