BCCI Set To Investigate Wriddhiman Saha's Tweet On A Journalist And His Statement On President Sourav Ganguly – Reports

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to do the investigation on the comments made by veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha on the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and the Tweet posted by wicket-keeper in which he received insulting messages from a journalist.
Senior Indian wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha, who recently got dropped from the Indian Test side ahead of the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, had posted a statement on his official Twitter handle claiming that he was threatened by a journalist after he refused to answer his call for an interview.

“After all of my contributions to Indian cricket..this is what I face from a so-called “Respected” journalist! This is where the journalism has gone,” Saha tweeted with pictures of messages he received from a reporter.

Also, in his interview with ESPNcricinfo, Saha had said that the BCCI president Ganguly had told him that he didn’t have to worry about his position in the Indian team. He said:
“The biggest shock was that when I scored 61 against New Zealand in Kanpur despite being injured, Dadi (as BCCI president Sourav Ganguly is referred to), texted to congratulate me and said I didn’t need to worry about anything till he is there. Naturally, I was shocked at what I was told immediately one series after.”
Wriddhiman Saha Is A Contracted Cricketer, The Onus Is On The Board To Not Let Its Own Player Down – Source
According to a report in TOI, ‘Well-placed individuals in the know’ have said that the matter cannot be put to rest until everything said by Saha in an interview and his tweet is looked into.
“The matter cannot be put to rest until every single detail of what Saha has said in the interview and the tweet he shared is looked into”.
“Saha is a contracted cricketer of the BCCI. The onus is on the Board to not let its own player down. That aside, if there is any kind of a nexus at work here, one has to look into it,” say officials tracking these developments as quoted by TOI.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India officials feel that there was no need for Sourav Ganguly to assure the wicketkeeper-batsman a place in the Indian Test team.
“The Rahul Dravid-bit is understandable. He’s the national coach and may have wanted to keep his players in the loop. That’s between the coach and the players. What was the need for a BCCI official to speak with Saha and assure him of a place in the side? ‘I don’t need to worry till he’s there’. Kitni galat baat hai yeh (How wrong it is to say something like this),” officials add.
The source further added that “enough is enough” and the Board of Control for Cricket in India has to act now.
“First the Virat incident happened, then all this. And then he’s (Saha) posted that tweet of the screenshot (of messages he received from a journalist). What the h*** is happening? The Board has to act because enough is enough,” say those tracking developments as quoted by TOI.
