The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released an official statement and provided an update on the India National Cricket Team star wicketkeeper-batter, Rishabh Pant, after his car accident.

Pant was seriously injured in a road accident on Friday, December 30. He met with the accident in the early hours of Friday when he was driving from New Delhi to Roorkee in Uttarakhand to pay a surprise visit to his family.

He reportedly dozed off and his Mercedes GLE car collided with the divider railings on the Delhi-Haridwar highway and then turned a few times before catching fire. The police informed that Pant somehow managed to get out of the burning automobile after breaking its windscreen.

Following the horrific car crash, Rishabh Pant was taken to Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Centre for treatment and was later shifted to the Max Hospital in Dehradun, where he will undergo MRI scans to ascertain the extent of his injuries.

BCCI In Constant Touch With Rishabh Pant’s Family

In an official statement issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, it was stated that the condition of Rishabh Pant is stable.

The board also confirmed that the wicketkeeper-batter has sustained several injuries. He has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back.

It was further stated that the board will make sure that Rishabh Pant receives the best possible treatment and support to come out of the “traumatic phase”.

“India wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant met with a car accident early on Friday morning near Roorkee, Uttarakhand. He was admitted to Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Centre where he was treated for impact injuries,” the board said in an official media release.

“Rishabh has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back.

“Rishabh’s condition remains stable, and he has now been shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun, where he will undergo MRI scans to ascertain the extent of his injuries and formulate his further course of treatment.

“The BCCI is in constant touch with Rishabh’s family while the Medical Team is in close contact with the doctors currently treating Rishabh.

“The Board will see to it that Rishabh receives the best possible medical care and gets all the support he needs to come out of this traumatic phase,” the Board of Control for Cricket in India further stated.
