Candice Warner Slams The Captaincy Ban On Her Husband David Warner After Sandpapergate

Australian cricketer David Warner may be kicked out of the BBL if the ‘unjust’ management ban imposed on him for his role in Sandpapergate is not lifted, his angry wife Candice Warner has stated.
When Cameron Bancroft was caught scuffing the ball with sandpaper after following Warner’s instructions in Cape Town, South Africa in 2018, it sent shockwaves through the sport.
Warner’s wife added that he had several options for high-paying captaincy roles in various domestic T20 competitions, which they had discussed as a family.
‘My job was not to question my husband; it was to support David right now,” Candice Warner explained.
‘It was about being his power as much as I could be.’ I did not make too many assumptions about something. There were undoubtedly times when the entire family wondered, “What is next?”
‘However, you take each day as it comes, and there have been numerous opportunities for David to play in Canada and the Caribbean.’ There will undoubtedly be times when you as an athlete think, “OK, well, I could go sit there and get upset, or I could set goals moving forward.”

Warner’s performance statistics and status as the former Sunrisers Hyderabad captain in the Indian Premier League were cited by Candice as evidence that he may have a significant impact in the BBL.
Candice stated, “David has an unbelievable T20 record in India, and in Australia, he is considered one of our greatest ever.”
“Additionally, there is another league playing in the UAE that is financially far wealthier. Lifting Dave’s prohibition is important, but it is also important for our family’s welfare. And Dave has simply accepted his current ban.”
The Australian ball-tampering incident of 2018—also referred to as the Sandpapergate scandal—involved the Australian national cricket team. After being implicated, vice-captain David Warner and skipper Steve Smith both suffered unprecedented punishment from Cricket Australia.
