CPL 2021 Draft: Shakib Al Hasan To Play For Jamaica Tallawahs, Faf Du Plessis For St. Lucia Zouks

Bangladesh’s ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis will feature in the upcoming Caribbean Premier League season 9 or CPL 2021. The entire tournament is scheduled to be played in St. Kitts & Nevis.

The CPL 2021 will see all the matches being played at Warner Park in St. Kitts & Nevis from August 28 to September 19. This is similar to when the CPL 2020 was entirely played in Trinidad and Tobago, with matches played at the Queen’s Park Oval and the Brian Lara Stadium, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

St Kitts and Nevis government had said fans will be allowed at the venue but only 50 percent of tickets will be sold and all patrons must be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Shakib Al Hasan To Play For Jamaica Tallawahs

Shakib Al Hasan is one of the leading all-rounders in world cricket right now. One of the hottest commodities in T20 leagues, the former Bangladeshi captain will be seen playing for the Jamaica Tallawahs in the CPL 2021. He returns to the franchise for which he has previously played in 2016 and 2017 before moving to Barbados Tridents in 2019 and winning the title with them.

He has hit 476 fours and 121 sixes thus far. With the ball, Shakib has claimed 362 wickets with the best bowling of 6/6 with an economy of 6.88.

Faf Du Plessis To Turn Out For St Lucia Zouks

On the other hand, South Africa batting legend Faf du Plessis will be turning out for St Lucia Zouks in the CPL 2021. Du Plessis is coming off a successful IPL 2021 first-half where he was the mainstay for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batting, continuing from where he left off in IPL 2020 when he top-scored for the yellow army in the tournament.
