England to play Netherlands in Amstelveen

The last time the two teams met in an ODI match was back in the 2011 World Cup at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur where England won by six wickets.

All three matches will be played at the VRA Cricket Ground in Amstelveen between June 17-22.

England Board cancelled men and women’s Pakistan tour

Earlier this month, the ECB cancelled the Pakistan tour of both the men and women’s teams just after the New Zealand cricket team withdrew at the very last moment citing security concerns.

Things didn’t go well with the Pakistan Cricket Board which was completely disappointed with the England board’s decision without any discussion between the two.

The British ambassador to Pakistan Christian Turner, on September 21, clarified that the British High Commission in Islamabad, Pakistan didn’t advise England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to call off its men’s and women’s teams’ tours of Pakistan on any security ground.

“This was a decision made by the ECB, which is independent of the British government based on concerns for player welfare. The British High Commission supported the tour; did not advise against it on security grounds, and our travel advice for Pakistan has not changed,” the ambassador said.

I have been a champion of international cricket’s return to Pakistan and will redouble my efforts in advance of England’s Autumn 2022 tour. I hope that we will soon hear the roar of full cricket stadium again. In the end, cricket will be victorious,” he added.

England will participate in the T20 World Cup next month under Eoin Morgan’s leadership. The 2016 ICC T20 World Cup runners-up are paired with West Indies, South Africa,  Australia and two more teams yet to be determined by qualifiers.
