Three Indian players Avesh Khan, Shubman Gill, and Washington Sundar have been ruled out of the England vs India 2021 Test series due to injury. Yadav and Shaw are the replacements for these players. India and England will lock horns in a 5-match Test series starting with the first Test on August 4, 2021.

Since he has been out of the field for such a long time, he might face issues in batting form against a dominant side like England. Yadav can be given a chance against Vihari during England vs India Test series 2021.

Cheteshwar Purjara

Cheteshwar Pujara is also a middle-order batsman for India in Tests. Often termed as Test specialist, Pujara is a regular member of the Indian Test squad. Although Pujara is an efficient Test batsman, he has failed to come up with a century for a long time.

His last century arrived against Australia back in January 2019. Since then, he has managed to hit half-centuries but always failed to convert into a three-digit score. Suryakumar Yadav can also replace Puraja in the playing XI in the middle-order.
