Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal mentioned that India should try to change their combination of four fast bowlers for the remaining tests as the conditions don’t suit that. So far, Virat Kohli has gone in with four out and right fast bowlers in the last two tests and it have yielded a 50-50 result with one test going India’s way.

However, the exclusion of a world-class spinner like Ravichandran Ashwin was visible in the previous test at Headingly, and also, India will look into changing their fast bowlers too. Ishant Sharma looks like he needs a rest while India will have to bring in pure batsmen as well to strengthen the batting order.

Kamran Akmal Bats For Inclusion Of R Ashwin

Kamran Akmal mentioned that the pitches for the fourth and fifth test will need at least one spinner and Jadeja’s poor form with the ball should get Ashwin into the lineup. He also added about having an extra batsman to back up the struggling Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant with Hanuma Vihari or a Suryakumar Yadav.

“I don’t think the pitches for the remaining Tests need so many pacers. They should bring in Ashwin now. Team India also need an extra batter because Rahane and Pant are not in form, so the side will need some backup.” Kamran Akmal told on his Youtube Channel.

Kamran Akmal Reckons Rahane And Pant Will Feel The Pressure

Kamran Akmal mentioned that Pujara and Kohli’s partnership was the only way India could have escaped from a defeat as both were set on the day 4 morning. He added the tricky morning session got rid of both the set batsmen and it was always going to be tough from there. He reckoned Rahane and Pant are due for runs and they will face the heat in the dressing room for sure.

“India were depending a lot on Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli. Their partnership was crucial against the new ball. Had they batted out the tricky period, things would have gotten easier. But Pujara got out early, without adding to his overnight score of 91. Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant are due for runs.”

Pujara and Kohli scored some runs at Headingley but there will be a lot of pressure on Rahane and Pant. They will need to score runs in the coming Tests,” he added.

Ajinkya Rahane averages just 20 in this year with just two half-centuries and he will need a big score soon.
