Gautam Gambhir Takes an Indirect Dig at MS Dhoni Over his Biopic

Discarded India opener, Gautam Gambhir recently took a jibe at former India skipper MS Dhoni over his biopic, “MS Dhoni: The Untold Story”.

Meanwhile, the director Neeraj Pandey made a biopic based on MS Dhoni in 2016. It garnered a huge amount of response all over the world, as it became the most comprehensive release ever for a Bollywood film across 61 countries.

The movie revolves around Dhoni and shows his life-changing journey from a railway ticket collector to the three ICC title-winning skipper. Sushant Singh Rajput played the role of Dhoni and got a huge round of applause from the movie buffs.

Recently, there were speculations about a sequel of the earlier biopic. The new film is likely to focus on MS Dhoni’s career after the 2011 World Cup.

It will also include India’s run-up to the semi-finals in the 2015 cricket World and the birth of Ziva Dhoni. With the film all set to go on floors next year, Sushant is likely to begin his preparations soon.

However, this film got a whole lot of criticism as well among the dignitaries, and the latest addition was Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir, a teammate of Dhoni has taken an indirect jibe at his former skipper.

A biopic on APJ Abdul Kalam

He took to Twitter to express that former India President, APJ Abdul Kalam deserves a biopic more than anybody. Kalam was the 11th President of Independent India. He got support from both BJP and Indian National Congress on his way to become the President.

Moreover, he was a scientist by profession and had written many books. He is till now regarded as one of the best Presidents, India has ever had. However, he passed on July 27, three years back.

Mourning his death, Gautam Gambhir raised the issue of a biopic on Abdul Kalam.

No one deserves a biopic more than this great man Bharat Ratna dr. Abdul Kalam. True inspiration to every Indian,” he wrote.
