Indian wicket-keeper batter Wriddhiman Saha asserted that he does not want to create controversy but instead, hopes to reveal things that do happen between journalists and cricketers. He also said that the journalist who threatened him hasn’t apologized yet which prompted him to tweet.

Saha was also contacted by the BCCI in this regard and was asked to reveal the name of the said journalist. However, he wasn’t keen on doing so as it is not the morals he has lived his life by.

The second tweet clearly shows that the guy has not apologized. BCCI supported me and asked me for the name, I have not told them the name so far. I have mailed them the entire story.

Giving the person to think about what he has done and if he has any regret, if he does change, then I have to think. Had he apologized I would not have tweeted the second time. Such things happen. My motive is not to draw controversy but tell people that such things happen,” Saha told India Today in an exclusive interview.

Saha had stated that he is willing to give the journalist another opportunity if he does end up apologizing. Therefore, he will wait before revealing the mail to the BCCI, who has confirmed that strict action will be taken against the person who threatened Saha.

I am hurt with the message of the journalist. Neither have I ever behaved badly with any journalist nor have they misbehaved with me. But this was uncalled for.

“I wanted to expose him so that people know that the world of journalism has such people. The said journalist has neither got in touch with me nor has he apologized.

After my tweet, BCCI has got in touch with me through email and through the phone. They are investigating the matter. I will cooperate with them. I don’t want to reveal his identity because these are my morals and I live by principles.

“I always feel that I should give someone a second chance. This is the second chance that I want to give him for the time being,” Saha was quoted as saying to Zee Media.

The whole saga began after the journalist asked Saha for an interview but upon receiving no response, the person took it as an insult and began threatening the Bengal keeper.
