Hardik Pandya has shown significant growth as a hitter following his recovery from a back ailment, according to former India wicket-keeper Parthiv Patel. He believes the right-hander has adjusted his batting style to fit the scenario.

Hardik Pandya was given the job of a finisher in his early years, so he took an attacking strategy, according to the cricketer-turned-commentator. Patel believes that the flamboyant hitter has now demonstrated that he can also calm the ship for the team when necessary by playing sensibly.

It Is Good To See That Hardik Pandya Has Matured As A Cricketer: Parthiv Patel

“Hardik Pandya has added a new dimension to his game. Earlier, he used to be a pure finisher, but he has shown that he can also stabilize the innings. He played with a single approach and now looks to adjust his game as per the situation. It is good to see that he has transferred the maturity that he showed in the IPL to international cricket as well,” said Patel on Cricbuzz.

Pandya also performed admirably in the five-match T20I series against South Africa. It’s worth noting that he’s been selected captain of India’s next two-match T20I series against Ireland.

Pandya mustered 117 runs from four appearances against South Africa. He had a brilliant batting average of 58.50 along with a fantastic strike rate of 153.94.

From being nowhere close to the national side till the IPL to being announced as the captain of the side, Pandya has come a long way in the last 3 months or so.
